about
Live recording from Malta gazebo, some years ago - Jim Connelly & Greg Drake singing the David Crosby song, Jim on guitar, Paul Cooke on congas, & crowd noises & car sounds ad. lib. - & at this gig, a woman came up to us after, with her companions, & explained that she had just come up from the Bahamas, where she had won a free diving contest, descending to over 300 feet in the ocean (if I remember correctly) on one breath of air. And how this song resonated with her, it being so reminiscent of sea & wave. A great experience for me - I always loved David Crosby, & knew & was congruent with his love of the sea & sailing. "Wooden Ships" & "Southern Cross", of course, & his boat Mayan. I beg pardon for Bandcamp attributing the song to me - it is of course by David Crosby - a fault of Bandcamp formatting. We just took the grandkids to see "Avatar - The Way Of Water" - such a pretty movie, & a great joining of ocean & the spirit of trying to be one with & save the natural world, which Crosby also had sympathy for. May you find the dolphins at the end of the rainbow, David. Good Voyages, wherever you roam.
